Turkish carpets belongs to Anatolian carpet group (Anatolia – " the rising of the sun"). The most ancient carpets among Turkish ones were weaved in the 13th century and mostly have classic traditional motives. The Turkish style of the carpet weaving is illustrated in old pieces weaved in the Western part of Turkey, Usak city, in the best way. HAS carpets for instance are famous because of its uniqueness and high quality of a sheep wool. In the oriental carpets the main motives are geometrical and floral, tassel is short or absnt at all. The main materials are sheep wool and cotton, or both are used at the same time like in Samsun carpets.
The oriental motives have always kept some mysteriousness, magic. Their meaning, their symbolics have the aim of creation of the coziness in the house and beneficial energy.
